Xenotes Tour Unveiled with Xcaret in Mexico

Ahoy there, Majic Adventurers! 🌞 Today, we're immersing ourselves in the captivating world of Xenotes, courtesy of the five-diamond all-inclusive Hotel Xcaret. This tour is right in the heart of the Majical Jungle in Mexico. If you're up for an escapade that seamlessly blends the wonders of nature, a dash of adrenaline, and a sprinkle of pure majic, then you're in for a treat! I fell off a cliff on this tour and adventured to another majical day!

Let's start at the beginning. What on Earth are Xenotes? These natural sinkholes, scattered across the Mexican landscape, each possess their own unique charm. This happens when a cave or sinkhole creates a wonderful sunken world. These hidden treasures are like secret doorways to another dimension, offering a respite from everyday adventure.

2. The Epic Journey Commences

Close your eyes and envision this: you're embarking on a comfortable voyage through lush jungles and rugged terrains. As you draw nearer to the Xenotes, a palpable sense of anticipation hangs in the air. There are monkeys on the path and historic untouched lands. Once you arrive it's a short hike, but let me tell you, it's worth every step! All-inclusive means your tour, your transport, your guide, and your meal are all included.

3. Crystal-clear waters and deep waters that Hypnotize

Prepare to be utterly spellbound by the crystal-clear waters of the Xenotes. Imagine yourself taking a revitalizing plunge into the refreshing Xenotes, surrounded by breathtaking rock formations and vibrant foliage. It's nature's very own spa retreat, and it's nothing short of majestic! Waters that are untouched by daily life

4. Adventure Beckons

Attention all you thrill-seekers and adventure aficionados! 🌊 The Xenotes tour has a smorgasbord of activities that will set your heart racing. Start with handlebar ziplining into a Xenote, or slide down into it. Trek through the trees to rappel down into the cave through a hole in the top. Every moment has a heart-pounding adventure. We even kayaked in a long Xenote cavern and swam through a half-formed covern.

5. Soul-Healing Serenity and Wine

Amidst all the exhilaration, there's also ample room for tranquility. Take a deep breath and allow the serenity of the Xenotes to envelop your soul. Between the trips you will stop in the middle of the jungle and find yourself a feast of meats, cheeses, fruits, sandwiches, and wines. The wine may have been a great reason why I fell in the cliff but we will leave that till the end. Relax and enjoy your meal with your fellow adventurers.

6. A Return to Nature's Embrace

In our fast-paced lives, a Xenotes tour is an opportunity to disconnect from the digital world and fully embrace the simple pleasures of nature. No WiFi, no notifications—just you and the exquisite beauty of the great outdoors. I can't deny that I got some great photos from the on-site photographer. They take the photos and show you after for purchase. We got these as part of a larger package and it was so very worth it. During the last dive in fact the photographer got my plunge into the water.

7. And the big plunge you were waiting for

First thing to know is that very first handlebar zip line, I chose slide. I didn't test my strength, strike one. The second thing to know is the wine part. There was a thrill of wine in the air. I should also admit here I am not a regular wine person, so a mini bottle to myself was enough to make me daring. The third part, this "cliff" was a jump-off point and a zip-line point. You could use the wing or the handlebar. We chose not to jump, I chose the swing first, but here comes the daring part. They told us that someone could flip upside down for a Spiderman photo. I immediately volunteered my husband and that meant I had to be a part of it. So I would have to use the handlebar. So We went for our take-off, and he nailed it! But I lasted about a foot off the ledge and I plunged. Thankfully there was a board already leading over the cliff so I wasn't in a huge amount of danger. Just a hilarious plunge.

I've shared this story before and I have had so many judging eyes on my photos telling me I weighed too much and that was why this happened. A year after first sharing my story, and 2 years after starting my weight loss journey I can say this. Do things others make fun of you for. Take the pictures that you hate. Be the big girl up on the edge of a cliff or in a bikini. Because one day, you will love yourself and be glad you took the chances AND THE PHOTOS! I'm over a hundred pounds down since these photos but I am so glad I am sharing them with all of you.

Final Tips for Your Xenotes Adventure

• Don your comfiest swimwear and sturdy shoes for exploring. Probably warmer is better. Long sleeves and shorts were my best friend.

• Don't forget your eco-friendly sunscreen and trusty insect repellent. Natural matters, they really care about leaving no trace, and so should you. They offer it for purchase there, but I brought mine with "reef-friendly" as the key.

• If you must with the technology, then bring along a waterproof camera to capture those utterly enchanting moments. A go pro would probably be your best situation and for the times with helmets, you can use it as you need.
